USA Triathlon Teams With Strong Showing In Madrid ITU Triathlon Series

The USA Triathlon men and women both turned in strong performances over the weekend in Madrid, Spain at the Madrid ITU Triathlon World Championship Series. Sarah Haskins lead the American women with a strong 5th place showing in her first race back after leg surgery, while Sarah Groff and Mary Beth Ellis crossed the line in 9th and 17th place respectively.

In the men's race, Jarrod Shoemaker turned in the second-fastest run split (only behind eventual winner Alistair Brownlee of Great Britain) of the day to jump from 27th place after the bike to a sprint finish for 12th place.
